The Los Angeles Angels promoted former Tennessee star Christian Moore to Double-A after he played just two games in High-A earlier this week.
Moore picked up in Double-A right where he left off in High-A. In his first game with the Rocket City Trash Pandas, Moore went two-for-four with a single and a solo home run. He recorded his first Double-A hit in his second at-bat and his first Double-A home run in just his third at-bat.
It was a no doubt blast, over 109 MPH off the bat to left-center field. Check out the video of Moore’s first Double-A home run here.

Now in three professional games, Moore is hitting eight-for-15 with a double, triple, two home runs and seven total RBIs.
Now with the Rocket City Trash Pandas, Moore is playing in the Southern League which would afford Tennessee fans the opportunity to watch the Vol great play in person. The Trash Pandas play at Chattanooga from Aug. 13 to Aug. 18 and then again to close the regular season from Sept. 10 to Sept. 15. Rocket City has one more meeting with the Tennessee Smokies this season but the series is in Huntsville.

Moore turned in the best single season at the plate in Tennessee history during the Vols’ 2024 National Championship season. Hitting in the leadoff spot, Moore hitt .375 with 34 home runs, 55 extra-base hits and 74 RBIs.
Tennessee’s previous single season home run record was 24 and Moore way out paced it in his junior season. Moore’s 61 home runs over the course of his three-year college career make him the Vols’ career home run record holder.
