Four-star tight end Da’Saahn Brame flipped his commitment from Oregon to Tennessee football on Sunday afternoon, he shared on Instagram in a report from On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Brame flips his commitment to Tennessee less than a month after originally committing to Oregon over the Vols. The blue-chip recruit took official visits to LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oregon and Tennessee. Ahead of his commitment, Tennessee seemed to have the momentum, but Brame ended up choosing the Ducks.
However, Tennessee didn’t stop recruiting Brame after his initial commitment. Josh Heupel and tight ends coach Alec Abeln’s persistence paid off as the Vols landed the prep tight end they’ve long targeted.
Brame ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 112 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Derby native also ranks as the No. 4 player in the state of Kansas and the No. 5 tight end in the country in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Starring at Derby High School, Brame caught 46 passes for for 942 yards and 13 touchdowns last season while leading the Panthers to an 11-2 record. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound tight end comes from a sports family with his dad playing football and his mom playing basketball at Kansas State.
Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains 19 commitments including from four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer— one of the Vols’ first commits in the 2025 cycle.
Brame’s commitment pushes Tennessee’s recruiting class from No. 10 to No. 8 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings. The Vols are in the midst of a hot stretch on the recruiting trail having now landed four commitments in July after landing six commitments in June.
