A massive event will shake the steel framing of Neyland Stadium this fall, but it has nothing to do with the sport of football.
As announced by Morgan Wallen on X on Monday morning, the East Tennessee country musician will be hosting a concert inside historic Neyland Stadium this fall.
The concert, part of the 2024 One Night at a Time tour, will take place on September 22nd in Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium. The concert will take place on a Sunday night which is one day after Tennessee Football takes on the Oklahoma Sooners during a road game in Norman, OK. Fans looking to go to both events will have to make some seriously top-notch travel plans to get back to Knoxville from Norman before the show.

From Sneedville, Tennessee, Wallen went to high school at Gibbs High School, just 16 miles from Neyland Stadium.
Wallen will also feature Hardy and Ernest on the show, but it seems like there’s a good opportunity for some notable Tennessee figures to show up as well.
Will Peyton Manning be brought on stage?
How about Tony Vitello?
What about the National Championship trophy?
…That would certainly cause a roar from the crowd.
Wallen was recently seen sitting with Tennessee football head coach Josh Heupel, Tennessee basketball head coach Rick Barnes, and Tennessee AD Danny White during the Vols’ National Championship baseball victory over Texas A&M last month. Wallen was seen sporting a Tennessee baseball jersey and a backward UT ballcap for the game.
Tickets for the event will be on sale Wednesday, July 17, at 11 a.m. EST.
Playing Neyland Stadium is an exclusive event that not many artists have had the chance to do. Here’s a look at all of the concerts that have taken place at Neyland Stadium since 1984 according to Concert Archives:
- 1984: Michael Jackson (x4)
- 2003: Kenny Chesney/Brooks & Dunn/Rascal Flatts/Keith Urban/Deana Carter/Warren Brothers
- 2008: Taylor Swift/Montgomery Gentry (CANCELLED)
- 2011: Superchick
- 2013: Alabama
- 2019: Garth Brooks/Jon Pardi
- 2019: Garth Brooks
- 2024: Morgan Wallen/HARDY/Ernest
Tennessee will host Kent State on September 14, play at Oklahoma on September 21, and then the concert will take place on September 22. Fortunately for the grounds, Tennessee has two weeks before their next home game after the concert with a bye week following the OU matchup and a road trip to Arkansas on Oct. 5.
Here’s a look at when future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning joined Chesney on stage for his concert in Neyland Stadium in 2003.
