Social media reacts to Tennessee’s new football uniforms.

Tennessee shocked its fanbase with a look at brand-new uniforms for the 2024 season as the Vols unveiled the next edition of their Smokey Grey uniforms.

While we knew that Tennessee was set to debut a new set for the season, no one knew when. Tennessee teased it during the spring and a leak did hit social media last month but only vague rumors pointed to when the uniforms would actually be released.

When the clock struck nine o’clock on Saturday morning, Tennessee dropped the new set.

After a tribute to Condredge Holloway last year, Tennessee’s 2024 Smokey Grey uniforms will honor The Volunteer State with a Tri-Star design. Tennessee has incorporated the Tri-Star logo into the helmets, jerseys, and pants while also putting the name “Tennessee” across the chest for the first time in program history.

Rocky Top Insider has an ongoing poll on X for fans to grade Tennessee’s new uniforms. The Smokey Grey variations have been controversial in years past so it’s interesting to see more of a positive trend towards the 2024 versions. While the results are still early at the time of this publication, the “A” grade leads the pack at 59.7 percent while the “B” grade follows behind at 27.5 percent. The “C” and “D” grades only make up for 13.9 percent of the early vote.
