Tennessee Football Commit One Of Highest Risers In Latest Recruiting Updates

New Jersey edge rusher Jayden Loftin committed to Tennessee football back in early June helping kickstart a strong recruiting stretch for Josh Heupel and his staff.

On3 sports updated its recruiting rankings on Monday and Loftin was one of the highest risers in the new rankings. Loftin was ranked outside of the top 300 in On3’s rankings prior to the update and is now ranked as the No. 157 player and No. 16 EDGE rusher in the country. He also ranks as the No. 5 player in the state of New Jersey.

Loftin is now a consensus four-star on every recruiting website. According to the On3 consensus rankings, Loftin ranks as the No. 232 player and the No. 24 EDGE rusher in the country.

A Somerville, New Jersey native, Loftin committed to Tennessee over Penn State, Syracuse and Wisconsin back in June and is a part of a stout pass rushing class that Rodney Garner and Mike Ekeler are recruiting.

In On3’s updated recruiting rankings, Tennessee hold commitments from the No. 5 (Mariyon Dye) and No. 16 (Loftin) EDGE rusher in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The Vols also hold commits from the No. 19 (Ethan Utley) and No. 26 (Charles House) defensive linemen in the 2025 cycle.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains 16 commits and ranks No. 16 in the country according to the On3 team rankings. The Vols’ recruiting class ranks No. 15 nationally and No. 9 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
