Chase Dollander Set to Compete During MLB All-Star Weekend

Former Tennessee pitcher Chase Dollander is set to compete at MLB All-Star Weekend later this month in Texas.

Dollander was announced as one of the nine pitchers to represent the National League in the All-Star Futures game during All-Star week.

The All-Star Futures game is a seven-inning contest between the National League and the American League on July 13 from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The Futures game will take place at 4:10 p.m. ET on Saturday while the MLB Celebrity Softball game will follow at 8:45 p.m. ET that night. The Home Run Derby will take place on July 15 while the All-Star game is set for Tuesday, July 16.

Dollander was selected by the Colorado Rockies with the ninth overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft out of Tennessee.

In his first season with the Spokane Indians, the Rockies’ High-A affiliate, Dollander posted a 3.05 ERA over the span of 62 innings in 12 games. The former Vol also tallied 92 strikeouts with a 1.24 WHIP and a 3-1 total record.

The Georgia native opened up his college career at Georgia Southern before transferring to Tennessee for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Dollander was an integral part of Tennessee’s weekend rotation and finished his time in Knoxville as a two-time SEC Pitcher of the Week, the 2022 SEC Pitcher of the Year, a First Team All-SEC selection, and a First Team All-American by six outlets.

Dollander recently congratulated Tennessee for their National Championship this past season in a social media video posted by the Vols’ social account.
