Four-Star Tennessee Defensive Line Target Announces Upcoming Commitment Date

Four-star defensive lineman Bryce Jenkins is announcing his college commitment on July 6, he announced on his X on Saturday.

Jenkins is deciding between a top group that includes Maryland, Rutgers, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Jenkins ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 228 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. A Washington, D.C. native, Jenkins ranks as the No. 26 defensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting cycle and the No. 3 player in the District of Columbia.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound defensive lineman is a near consensus four-star recruit and ranks as the No. 162 player in the country according to On3 sports.

Jenkins has visited Tennessee more than any other school in his top group. The blue-chip defensive lineman unofficially visited Tennessee in February, April and May before officially visiting last weekend.

The defensive tackle prospect took official visits earlier this summer to all four of his top schools, seeing Rutgers followed by South Carolina, Maryland and lastly Tennessee. Jenkins has taken three total visits to South Carolina and Maryland as well as two total visits to Rutgers.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains 16 commitments including from four players along the line of scrimmage— four-star’s Ethan Utley, Mariyon Dye and Jaydin Lofton as well as three-star Charles House.

After landing six commitments in the last two and a half weeks, the Vols’ 2025 recruiting class ranks No. 10 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
