Tennessee received some good news after its big recruiting event last weekend with the commitment of a four-star in-state player on Thursday.
The Vols locked down a commitment from Nic Moore, a four-star interior offensive lineman from Jefferson County High School in Dandridge, TN. Moore plays his high school ball just about 30 miles east of Tennessee’s Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, TN.
Moore ranks as the No. 337 player in the class, the No. 20 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 10 prospect from the Volunteer State according to 247 Sports Composite rankings.
While Tennessee hopes for even more good news coming out of last weekend’s recruiting event, Moore is a big step in the right direction.
“First, I would like to thank God for making this all possible because through him I am blessed to have this opportunity,” Moore wrote in his announcement. “I would also like to thank all the coaches and teams for taking the time to host my family and I through the recruiting process. I have learned a tremendous amount and truly appreciate all that has been done for me and my family. With that being said, I would like to announce my official commitment to the University of Tennessee!!! Go Vols”
Moore is Tennessee’s 12th overall commit and fifth four-star prospect in the class of 2025 joining four-star DL Ethan Utley, four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer, four-star EDGE rusher Jayden Loftin, and four-star WR Radarious Jackson. Nic Moore is Tennessee’s third-highest rated overall commit in the class and the second-highest rated offensive player behind five-star quarterback George MacIntyre.

With work still being done on the recruiting trail, here’s a look at where Tennessee stands in the 2025 recruiting ranks on June 21:
Tennessee
- No. 17 overall
- No. 7 SEC
- 1 five-star, 5 four-stars, 6 three-stars
Tennessee
- No. 13 overall
- No. 8 SEC
- 1 five-star, 5 four-stars, 6 three-stars
Tennessee
- No. 26 overall
- No. 9 SEC
- 0 five-stars, 6 four-stars, 6 three-stars
There aren’t a ton of similarities with the rankings despite the fact that the same handful of SEC teams are in front of the Vols in all three publications. Rivals has Tennessee on the outside of the Top 25 looking in with QB George MacIntyre coming in as a four-star prospect compared to his five-star rating with 247 Sports and On3 Sports.
Tennessee will host another big recruiting weekend coming up with announced visits from four-star IOL Breck Kolojay, four-star OT Bryce Jenkins, four-star LB Christian Gass, three-star cornerback Tre Poteat, and four-star cornerback Samari “Smoke” Matthews.
