Could Josh Heupel and Tennessee football be closing in on landing another five-star quarterback?
Following Faizon Brandon’s weekend visit to Knoxville, On3’s Steve Wiltfong logged an expert prediction for the blue-chip quarterback to commit to the Vols.
Brandon ranks as a five-star recruit and the No. 1 player in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to the 247sports rankings. The 6-foot-4 quarterback ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 11 player in the 2026 recruiting cycle according to the On3 sports rankings.
Wiltfong logged the prediction immediately following Brandon’s trip to Tennessee. The Greensboro, North Carolina native visited Knoxville over the weekend where he went through Tennessee’s high school camp.

Brandon’s weekend trip to Knoxville was his fifth in the last year. The five-star recruit visited Tennessee for the South Carolina, Texas A&M and Georgia games last fall as well as in April. Brandon has also taken multiple visits to Florida State and North Carolina State to this point in his recruitment and a number of schools once.
Landing five-star quarterbacks has been the most impressive thing Josh Heupel and his staff have done on the recruiting trail to this point in his tenure. The Vols landed five-star and top five recruit Nico Iamaleava in the 2023 recruiting class and five-star quarterback George MacIntyre is currently Tennessee’s highest rated recruit in the 2025 cycle.
Tennessee has yet to land a commit in the 2026 cycle so if Brandon makes a decision anytime soon, then he would be the first commit and an elite building block for the recruiting class.
