Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello met with the media in Knoxville on Wednesday afternoon as the postseason parade prepares to roll in town.
Tennessee, the overall top seed in the tournament, will host Southern Miss, Indiana, and Northern Kentucky in the Knoxville Regional over the weekend with a coveted spot in the Super Regional round on the line.
The Vols will play their first game of the weekend at 7:00 p.m. ET on Friday night against Northern Kentucky in the second game of the day from Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Southern Miss and Indiana will kick off the Knoxville Regional earlier in the day.
Vitello met with the media for about 12 minutes on Wednesday to give his thoughts on his team and the field heading into this weekend’s tournament. The Tennessee head coach talked about his play at the plate, pitching plans, familiarity with Southern Miss, and much more.
