A day after winning the SEC Tournament, Tennessee baseball received its NCAA Tournament draw. The Vols are the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host the Knoxville Regional next weekend.
Joining Tennessee in the Knoxville Regional is two-seed Southern Miss, three-seed Indiana and four-seed Northern Kentucky.
Northern Kentucky is in the NCAA Tournament after winning the Horizon League Tournament. The Norse enter the NCAA Tournament with a 35-22 (19-11 Horizon League) record.
The Vols are obviously familiar with Southern Miss after defeating the Golden Eagles in the Hattiesburg Super Regional a season ago. Southern Miss enters the NCAA Tournament with a 41-18 (20-10 Sun Belt) record this season. Indiana is in the NCAA Tournament with a 32-24-1 (15-9 Big 10) record this season and will face off against the Golden Eagles in the Knoxville Regional opener.

The Vols are back in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight time and are a top-eight national seed for the third time in four years. Tony Vitello’s seventh Tennessee squad won the SEC Regular-Season Championship before following it up with a SEC Tournament Championship.
The Knoxville Regional is matchup up with the Greenville Regional for a potential super regional matchup. The Greenville Regional includes East Carolina, VCU, Evansville and Wake Forest. Former Tennessee star Chase Burns in Wake Forest’s ace this season and one of the best pitchers in the country.
Tennessee defeated Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and LSU on its way to the SEC Tournament Championship after dropping its tournament opener against Vanderbilt.
With its SEC Tournament victory, the Vols enter the NCAA Tournament with a 50-11 (22-8 SEC) record and have been playing fantastic baseball the last two months. Since the start of the second half of SEC play, Tennessee boasts a 19-5 record and an extremely impressive 16-4 record
The Knoxville Regional begins on Friday, May 27 and runs through either Sunday or Monday. Tennessee opens up Knoxville Regional play against Northern Kentucky at 1 p.m. ET on Friday.
