Two Tennessee Volunteers are taking home individual honors in addition to the Vols’ SEC Tournament championship trophy on Sunday evening.

Tennessee first baseman Blake Burke was named the SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player after the Vols’ win while Burke and right fielder Kavares Tears earned spots on the SEC All-Tournament team.

The Vols won the SEC Tournament championship with a 4-3 victory over LSU on Sunday in Hoover, AL, closing down a four-game win streak to earn the title. Tennessee is now the SEC regular season co-champion and the outright SEC Tournament champion heading into a postseason.

When Tennessee was gathered around in anticipation of the news, Burke stook behind second baseman Christian Moore, looking as if he expected his right-infield teammate to receive the award. When Burke’s name was announced, though, Moore quickly turned around to show love to his teammate.
