Tennessee baseball returns to the field at the Hoover Met on Friday night where they’ll face Mississippi State in the SEC Tournament Quarterfinals.
It’s an elimination game with the loser heading home to prepare for the NCAA Tournament and the winner advancing to face Vanderbilt in the semifinals on Saturday.

How They Got Here
Tennessee earned a bye into the double elimination portion of the tournament by earning the one-seed before dropping its SEC Tournament opener against Vanderbilt 13-4. The Vols extended their stay in Hoover by earning a 7-4 victory over Texas A&M on Thursday.
Mississippi State earned the five-seed in the SEC Tournament and defeated arch rival Ole Miss 2-1 on a ninth inning walk-off home run to advance to the double elimination portion of the tournament. The Bulldogs used another ninth inning rally to defeat Texas A&M on Wednesday night before falling 4-3 against Vanderbilt on Thursday night to slide into the loser’s bracket.
