Former Tennessee outfielder Jordan Beck has put together a nice stretch of swings at the plate after struggling in some of his earlier outings in Major League Baseball.

The former Vol was called up by the Colorado Rockies before their series with the Marlins in late April. Beck debuted on April 30 and ended the game with two hits including a single to the outfield in his first at-bat.

Beck recorded one more hit in the series finale against Miami but struggled in his next stretch of games. The Colorado left fielder did not record a hit in four straight games with 14 appearances but found his swing again with two hits against the Giants on May 8. Beck did not record a hit in the series finale against San Francisco but has been on a tear ever since.

Beck has recorded at least one hit in seven of his last eight games with a career-high three hits against the Padres on May 15. The former Vol slugger also found his first career major league home run in that game against San Diego with his second career longshot just two days later in the series opener against the Giants.

“It was great,” Beck said after hitting his first home run in a five-RBI game. “It was actually a ball inside when I went back and looked at it. I knew he had a good heater. We had seen him in Triple-A before. So I was just on time for a heater and got a good swing on it.”
