Former Tennessee star Jordan Beck made his MLB debut earlier this month and continues to rack up firsts in his Colorado Rockies tenure.

That continued on Thursday when Beck hit his first career home run in what was the best game of his professional career to date.

Beck went three-of-four with a double and a home run in Colorado’s 8-0 win over San Diego. The left fielder totaled RBIs in three of his four at-bats and totaled five RBIs in the win.

He drove in one run with an eighth inning single, two runs with his sixth inning home run and two runs with this second inning double down the left field line.

It’s been an understandably slow start for Beck in the MLB. The outfielder is hitting .235 with one home run, two doubles and six RBIs in his first 15 games. Beck has struck out 20 times to date without having worked a walk. But his big performance on Wednesday was a good sign as he continues to make adjustments to big league pitching.

Over the course of Beck’s three-year Tennessee career, he hit .284 with 34 home runs, 75 extra-base hits and 134 RBIs. The Rockies selected Beck with the 38th pick in the 2022 MLB Draft and the slugger made his MLB debut less than two years later.
