Tennessee Titans draft pick T’Vondre Sweat had some fun asserting his side of the Tennessee-Texas rivalry in a recent interview with Voice of the Titans Mike Keith on The OTP.
Sweat, a graduate of the University of Texas, traded shots with Keith, a graduate of the University of Tennessee, about all things Vols and Longhorns.
While the Titans took Sweat with the 38th overall pick in the second round, they also took the Texas boy out of Texas. Sweat is a native of Huntsville, TX, and has been around the Longhorns his whole life. It’s no surprise that Sweat and Keith clashed on everything from education to the color of both schools to the new super conference that the Longhorns are walking into.
“I graduated (from) the real UT,” Sweat said, prompting a series of groans from Keith as he listened on. “Real UT. Education.”
“It’s a great school,” Keith chimed in.
“A better school,” Sweat replied, prompting a fierce head nod of disagreement from the Voice of the Titans.
Sweat’s light-hearted jabs at Tennessee in favor of Texas prompted Keith to ask a simple question: “Do you know where you are now? This is Tennessee.”
That comment, though, only fueled the fire as the two started talking about whether burnt orange was an acceptable shade or not.
