Tennessee baseball extends its SEC series win streak to eight over the weekend when the Vols took two out of three games at rival Vanderbilt.

The Vols used late game offensive explosions in both game one and game two of the weekend series to knock off the Commodores before Vanderbilt pitchers JD Thompson and Devin Futrell combined to shut out Tennessee in the Sunday series finale.

Left fielder Dylan Dreiling recorded the Vols’ only three hits in the series finale and he had a huge weekend at the plate, hitting seven-of-12 with a double, triple and a RBI. Christian Moore also came through for Tennessee over the course of the weekend including a pair of home runs and six RBIs. His three-run home run on Saturday gave Tennessee a lead it didn’t relinquish.

On the mound, both AJ Causey and Nate Snead turned in strong long relief outings while Aaron Combs gritted through 2.2 innings allowing just one run out of the bullpen on Saturday.

Despite dropping the series finale on Sunday afternoon, Tennessee baseball held on to the top-spot in every major rankings over the last week. Taking a look at where they landed here.
