More From RTI: ‘A Quintessential Vol’: Kavares Tears Is Tennessee Baseball’s Latest Homegrown Star
This weekend, the Vols are looking to bounce back from Tuesday night’s midweek loss to Lipscomb. It was Tennessee’s first midweek loss of the season. The rare loss ended a six-game winning streak for Tennessee which included a series sweep over Missouri and road series win over (then) third-ranked Kentucky.
The third-ranked Vols are second in the SEC East with a 15-6 conference record, sitting one game behind Kentucky, who holds a 16-5 league record.
Tennessee will be without star outfielder Kavares Tears in the series opener as he battles a lower-body injury. Read more about Tears’ injury here.
