Tennessee Football Makes Top Five For Blue-Chip Receiver

Four-star receiver Marcus Harris is down to a top five including Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas, he told On3’s Phillip Dukes.

A Santa Ann, California native, Harris ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 141 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect ranks as the No. 15 receiver nationally and the No. 13 player in the state of California.

While he’s a California native, Harris has only one west coast team in his top five and it’s still a school that’s a long trip from his home. The rest of the blue-chip recruits top schools are all in the SEC.

Harris has taken two visits to Tennessee so far in 202, in January and April, and plans on returning to Knoxville in June for an official visit. The California native has also taken five visits to Texas, four visits to Oregon, two visits to Alabama and one visit to Georgia. He has official visits scheduled to every school in his top five.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains nine commits including from a pair of instate receivers— four-star Radarious Jackson and three-star Joakim Dodson. The Vols are set to lose at least two receivers off their roster following the 2024 season— Bru McCoy and Dont’e Thornton.

The Vols nine commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 14 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
