Tennessee began wearing the Dark Mode uniforms as its alternate jerseys two seasons ago and have since worn them on an occasional basis. The Dark Mode uniforms were worn by the Vols in every single game in last year’s Clemson Regional.
While the Dark Mode uniforms have been around for a while, Tennessee has always worn orange helmets with them. So, Thursday night’s full uniform combination against Missouri is a first.

Typically in the series opener, Tennessee wears all white. While the Vols deviated from the norm on Thursday, they will likely stick with the orange on white and Sunday cream for Friday and Saturdays’ game, respectively.
First pitch in Thursday night’s series opener is at 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network. Both games one and three will be televised on the SEC Network for the series. Game two will be streamed on SEC Network +.
The third-ranked Vols are entering the Missouri series coming off their most impressive weekend to date, having beat (then) third-ranked Kentucky in two of three games. Graduate left-handed senior Chris Stamos is getting the ball to start Thursday night’s game.
