Tennessee landed a big commitment from the 2025 class on Saturday evening with the addition of DeWayne Brown.
The 6-foot-9, 235-pound center is a force out of Hoover, AL, ranking as the No. 1 prospect out of the state, a top 150 player overall, and the No. 22 center in the class according to 247 Composite rankings. Brown is Tennessee’s lone commit in the 2025 cycle.
Brown announced his decision through social media on Saturday, choosing Tennessee over Mississippi State.
While Tennessee continues to rebuild its Elite Eight roster for the 2024-2025 season, Brown’s addition won’t be seen until the 2025-2026 season due to his class. Still, though, Brown will bring an old-school game to the court for Rick Barnes’ team.
“I feel like [Tennessee is] a pretty good match with my game,” Brown told Rocky Top Insider after a visit to Knoxville in February. “They like to play fast just like how I play in AAU and high school. And they play inside-out with Coach Barnes which I think is good.”
