Four-star safety Eric Winters released his top five including Tennessee football on Friday night. The Vols joined Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Miami in the top 100 recruits top group.

An Enterprise, Alabama native, Winters ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 79 player in the 2025 recruiting class according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound prospect also ranks as the No. 8 safety in his class and the No. 7 player in the state of Alabama.

While Tennessee is in Winters’ top group, they appear to have some real work to do to become a serious player in his recruitment. The Lower Alabama native has yet to visit Tennessee and does not have an official visit planned to see the Vols at this point.

Winters has taken nine total visits to Auburn, three visits to Georgia and a visit to Florida so far during his recruitment. The blue-chip recruit also has official visits planned to both Georgia and Miami.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains eight commits with three being from defensive backs. The Vols landed their first safety commit of the 2025 cycle earlier this week when Sidney Walton committed to Tennessee.

The Vols’ eight commit 2025 recruiting class currently ranks No. 15 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
