Three-star safety Sidney Walton committed to Tennessee football on Thursday afternoon. Walton chose the Vols over Arkansas and Ole Miss.

A Moody, Alabama native ranks as a three-star recruit and the No. 453 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Walton ranks as the 41st best safety and the No. 20 player in the state of Alabama in the 2025 recruiting class.

Walton boasts 17 total offers including from Arkansas, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Louisville, Vanderbilt and West Virginia.
The Alabama native visited Tennessee for the Texas A&M game in October before returning to Knoxville earlier this month for an unofficial visit. Walton also visited Ole Miss earlier this month and in early Februay.
Walton becomes Tennessee football’s third defensive back commit in the 2025 recruiting class alongside Tyler Redmond and Dylan Lewis. But while Redmond and Lewis are both cornerbacks, Walton is the Vols’ first safety commit in the cycle.
Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class now boasts eight commits and ranks No. 14 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
