After a stretch of cold and rainy days in Knoxville, the sun shined down on Neyland Stadium for great weather during the 2024 Orange and White spring game to cap off spring camp on Rocky Top.
While the Orange team technically defeated the White team by a score of 21-14 on Saturday afternoon, the main thing to know is that Tennessee’s offense scored five times while the defense was able to get off the field on nine drives.
Starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava finished his day with just nine passing attempts, but did connect with receiver Chas Nimrod for a 27-yard touchdown pass during the second quarter. Veteran quarterback Gaston Moore had the biggest day from the quarterback room, going 12-of-18 for 184 yards and two touchdowns.
After the game, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media to give his thoughts on how the game unfolded. Heupel spoke about individual performances as well as position performances such as the wide receivers and the secondary. Heupel gave his overall thoughts on spring camp, talked about what’s to come over the summer, and much more.
