Belmont transfer wing Cade Tyson is officially visiting Tennessee basketball this weekend, 247sports’ Travis Branham first reported and a source confirmed to RTI on Thursday night.
Tyson is one of the top shooters in the transfer portal averaging 16.2 points and 5.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore last season for the Bruins. The 6-foot-7, 205-pound wing made 80 three-pointers last season at a staggering 47% clip.
A Monroe, North Carolina native, Tyson has two years of eligibility remaining after averaging 13-plus points in both of his seasons at Belmont.
Tyson is one of the top players in the transfer portal, ranking as a four-star recruit and the No. 86 player in the portal according to EvanMiya.com and a four-star recruit and the No. 23 player in the portal according to 247sports. The tall wing is known mostly for his offensive ability and particularly for stretching the floor. However, he also has the ability to play the four-spot.

The highly touted transfer wing is officially visiting North Carolina the week after he visits Tennessee. Kansas is also a top contender to land the sharp shooter.
Tennessee is hosting two different transfers this weekend with Hofstra transfer forward Darlinstone Dubar also visiting Knoxville. Like Tyson, Dubar is also a North Carolina native.
The Vols currently have six scholarship available to work with after losing four players to the transfer portal— Tobe Awaka, Jonas Aidoo, Freddie Dilione and D.J. Jefferson— and three players running out of eligibility— Dalton Knecht, Josiah-Jordan James and Santiago Vescovi.
Tennessee currently has one newcomer slated to come in this offseason in four-star combo guard Bishop Boswell.
