Tennessee’s memorable 2023-2024 season comes to a close with a loss to Midwest Region one-seed Purdue on Sunday afternoon in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament.
Despite a 37-point showing in Dalton Knecht’s final game in a Tennessee uniform, the Vols fell to the Boilermakers by a score of 72-66 on Sunday behind a 40-point performance from Zach Edey.
Knecht and Edey were two of the three players to record double-digit point totals in the game, joined by Purdue’s Fletcher Loyer who finished with 14 points.
After the game, Purdue’s Matt Painter met with the media to discuss his relation to the Boilermakers’ Final Four berth. Painter spoke about his team’s showing, what Dalton Knecht was able to do, and much more. Additionally, Purdue’s Zach Edey, Fletcher Loyer, Braden Smith, and Fletcher Loyer met with the media in Detroit to discuss their thoughts as well.
