Former Tennessee outfielder Jordan Beck is tearing it up in the Colorado Rockies organization after being selected with the 38th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft.
On Sunday, Beck was named the winner of the 2024 Abby Greer Award, which is the Rockies’ Spring Training MVP.
The Rockies’ social media account posted a video of Beck receiving the award on Sunday afternoon.

Beck ranks as the No. 81 overall player in the MLB Pipeline Prospect Rankings heading into the 2024 season.
Beck and the Rockies have gone 16-11 during the spring training slate, good for a second-place mark in the Cactus League behind the 14-5 Los Angeles Dodgers.
The former Tennessee outfielder is listed as a centerfielder with the Rockies and appeared in 18 of Colorado’s 27 games this spring. Beck has 27 at-bats throughout the spring slate and is hitting .370 at the plate with 10 hits, seven RBIs, two doubles, one triple, and three walks. Beck is also posting a .433 OBP, which is the highest on the team with a minimum of five at-bats.
While Beck might not make the Rockies’ plans for the 2024 season, the spring training output and the subsequent MVP award show how important he is in the Colorado system. With more continued work over the next season with time to impress in the minor leagues, Beck could make a play for the Rockies’ roster in 2025.

Beck hit 34 home runs during his time on Rocky Top, which is good for T-9th place in Tennessee baseball history.
Former Tennessee Vol and Knoxville native Todd Helton became the first Tennessee baseball player to reach the National Baseball Hall of Fame this past January after 17 impactful seasons in the Colorado Rockies’ organization.
“What Todd Helton did for the Colorado Rockies organization is nothing short of legendary,” Tennessee coach Tony Vitello said in a statement. “Nonetheless, folks here think just as highly of all he has accomplished in our great state. What he has done in this community prior to, during and after his time on Rocky Top may never be duplicated.”
