Tennessee wrapped up their fourth practice of the spring camp slate on Saturday morning. The Vols began spring camp on Monday and will go through the Orange & White game on April 13 in Neyland Stadium.
Rodney Garner, Tennessee’s fourth-year defensive line coach, received a raise and extension over the offseason that will keep him in Knoxville through the 2025 season. Garner has been an instrumental assistant for Josh Heupel’s staff during his time in Knoxville both on and off the field. Now, with both new and returning pieces to work with, Garner’s position group projects to be a strength for the Vols’ defense this upcoming season.
Garner spoke to the media after practice on Saturday to give some insight into how his group looks through the first week of spring camp. In addition to Garner, Tennessee also had defensive lineman Bryson Eason, defensive lineman Tyre West, and defensive lineman Elijah Simmons speak with the media. The trio of players talked about the first few days of camp, their impression of some of Tennessee’s newcomers, and much more.
