Tennessee hit the indoor practice field for the second practice of the spring camp slate on a cold Tuesday morning in Knoxville.
Tuesday’s practice was the first full-length workout for the Vols this spring with Monday’s spring camp kick-off being about an hour shorter in length.
While photos and videos were limited to the beginning of the practice, the media was allowed to stay and observe an extra portion of Tennessee’s practice. The Vols began the morning going through stretches and warm-ups before moving into some position-specific drills. Tennessee then ran one-on-one routes between the defensive backs and the wide receiver before moving into 11-on-11 sessions. No drill featured any sort of contact as Tennessee just wore helmets throughout the day.

With a good viewing angle from the sideline, much of the RTI highlight video from Tuesday’s practice features sophomore quarterback Nico Iamaleava (No. 8)and freshman quarterback Jake Merklinger (No. 12). While Iamaleava has been the King of the Buzz around the team coming off of a four-touchdown performance in the Citrus Bowl, many have also had their eye on four-star quarterback prospect Jake Merklinger. Both quarterbacks made some throws and missed others throughout the viewing period but were taking constant instruction from quarterback’s coach Joey Halzle and head coach Josh Heupel, which can be seen in the video.
