Day one of the Tennessee football spring practice slate is officially in the books.
With a revamped roster built over the offseason and new expectations entering the 2024 season, the Tennessee football team began spring workouts on Monday en route to the 2024 Orange & White game on April 13.
Tennessee has several new faces on the field in addition to returning players such as Bru McCoy, Omari Thomas, and Squirrel White. The Vols have 14 players from the 2024 recruiting class and eight players from the transfer portal going through spring works before taking a break for the summer. Former Tulane wide receiver Chris Brazzell II, former LSU offensive tackle Lance Heard, and former Oregon State cornerback Jermod McCoy make up a few of the Vols’ most exciting portal newcomers.
The Vols also have two new assistant coaches in running backs coach De’Rail Sims and linebackers coach William Inge.
Tennessee’s debut practice on a chilly Monday morning wasn’t too eventful as it was more of a limited walkthrough session. The Vols will hit the practice field for a full workout on Tuesday in Knoxville. Still, though, check out what you need to know with RTI’s practice observations below.
