The SEC Tournament this week in Nashville will be the final stop for Southeastern Conference teams looking to make their claim or solidify their spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
As of the last few weeks of the regular season with Ole Miss and Texas A&M dropping out of the running, it looks as though seven teams from the SEC will make the tournament. Tennessee, the SEC regular-season champion, leads the way as a consensus one-seed projection according to both ESPN’s Joe Lunardi and CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm. Mississippi State, on the other hand, really needs a win in their first SEC Tournament game against LSU to lock in their spot.
Kentucky, Alabama, Auburn, and South Carolina all project between the 3-seed and the 5-seed depending on the publication while Florida is up to a 7-seed with a 17-3 record against Quad 2-4 teams this season.
