Tennessee baseball head coach Tony Vitello met with the media following the Vols’ 8-3 series-sweeping win over Illinois on Sunday in Knoxville. Vitello discussed a wide-range of topics including Aaron Combs’ start, Nate Snead’s strong relief outing, how the team was able to come from behind and more.
Tennessee trailed for the vast majority of Sunday’s game against Illinois, but a five-run inning catapulted the Vols over the Fighting Illini, and they never relinquished the lead.
Kavares Tears delivered with a massive go-ahead RBI double before Robin Villeneuve launched a grand slam to left field to open things up.
With the win, Tennessee has now swept three consecutive series heading into SEC play next weekend.
Watch Vitello share his thoughts on the exciting game and more in the post-game press conference video below.
