Tennessee baseball is at Lindsey Nelson Stadium for its third straight weekend series as the Vols prepare to host Illinois in a three-game set this weekend.

It’s the Vols’ final series of the pre conference slate and their most challenging weekend since the first weekend of the season when they faced three Big 12 teams in Dallas.

Tennessee enters the weekend series 13-1 and riding a 12-game winning streak since falling to Oklahoma in extra innings. The Vols had a busy midweek, blowing out a solid Kansas State team before eking past Southern Indiana 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Tennessee ace AJ Russell won’t pitch again this weekend as he continues to fight side soreness that popped up in his second start of the season against Albany. That means another opportunity for transfer AJ Causey who shined in his first start of the season last week against Bowling Green.

Here’s everything to know about of the three-game series.
