Four-Star Offensive Tackle Includes Tennessee Football In Top Six

Four-star offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews released his top six on Sunday night including Tennessee football. The Vols joined Georgia, Maryland, Miami, Rutgers and Syracuse in the blue-chip recruit’s top group.

Matthews ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 90 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The Tom Mars, New Jersey native ranks as the No. 10 offensive tackle and the No. 2 player in the state of New Jersey.

As a New Jersey native, Matthews top six lists includes half east coast and northeast schools — Maryland, Rutgers and Syracuse — and three southeastern schools— Georgia, Miami and Tennessee.

Matthews released his top six just over a week after he announced his plans to take four official visits the spring and summer. The blue-chip recruit will visit Miami in March and Georgia, Syracuse and Tennessee in June. Matthews also plans on officially visiting Rutgers but hasn’t ironed out an official visit date yet.

The New Jersey native has unofficially visited Penn State four times, Rutgers twice and Georgia, Syracuse and Tennessee once.

Highly touted Tennessee quarterback commit George MacIntyre has made Matthews a key target and the blue-chip offensive tackle unofficially visited Tennessee last month for a Junior Day. The Vols are also in the top group for five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr.

Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class currently boasts six commits but none of them are currently from offensive linemen. The Vols’ six-player recruiting class currently ranks No. 10 nationally according to the 247sports team rankings.
