Tennessee assistant coach Gregg Polinsky met with the media on Friday afternoon in Knoxville before the Vols head to Tuscaloosa for a critical weekend matchup against Alabama on Saturday night.
The Vols’ game against the Tide will be their third-to-last game of the regular season with Tennessee flying high after a key win over Auburn this past week in Knoxville. Alabama, meanwhile, put up 103 points in a win over Ole Miss in Oxford on Wednesday night.
While Tennessee’s offense is no slouch thanks to the recent play of Dalton Knecht, the Vols’ defense against Alabama’s offense will be the big matchup to watch this weekend in Tuscaloosa. The Vols took down the Tide by a score of 91-71 in Knoxville in late January.
Ahead of the College Gameday-led contest in Tuscaloosa this weekend, Polinsky spoke with the media in Knoxville to give his thoughts on the upcoming matchup. Polinsky spoke about what has been the difference for Tobe Awaka over the last few games, carrying the defense over to Tuscaloosa, anticipating changes after the first game in Knoxville, and much more.
No. 14 Alabama will host No. 4 Tennessee this Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET in Tuscaloosa.
