Tennessee baseball continued a hot streak to open the season over the weekend, completing a three-game series sweep over UAlbany in the Vols’ home opener weekend from Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
While the Friday night game might have been a little closer than expected, Tennessee came back out and dropped the hammer on the Great Danes, resulting in a punishing win on Saturday and a clear run-rule victory on Sunday:
Friday: Tennessee 8, UAlbany 5
Saturday: Tennessee 21, UAlbany 6
Sunday: Tennessee 12, UAlbany 0
The Vols are now 7-1 on the season with their lone loss coming to Oklahoma in extra innings during the Shriners Classic in the second game of the season. Since that loss, though, Tennessee has racked up six straight wins with a run differential of +53 in those six.
Tennessee wore their orange-and-white Vols script uniforms on Saturday during the noon game and then went to the Vols script cream combination for the series finale on Sunday afternoon.
