Four-star Damien Shanklin will officially visit Tennessee football from June 13-16, he announced on X (formerly Twitter) late last week.
An edge rusher, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect is an Indianapolis native. He stars at Warren Central High School and ranks as one of the top players in the midwest.
Shanklin ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 172 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. The blue-chip prospect ranks as the 17th best edge rusher and the top player in the state of Indiana in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

The four-star’s summer visit to Tennessee will mark the second of his recruitment. Shanklin also unofficially visited Tennessee for its matchup against Georgia back last November.
Notre Dame appears to be the early leader in Shanklin’s recruitment. The talented edge rusher has taken four visits to date to the instate Fighting Irish including one of his two visits of 2024. Shanklin has also visited Indiana and Purdue three times, Iowa twice and a number of schools once including Michigan and Ohio State.
Tennessee football’s 2025 recruiting class contains six commitments to date but none of them are from defensive linemen. The Vols’ six-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 10 nationally and fifth in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
