First Pitch Time Moved Up For Tennessee Baseball’s Saturday Game Against Albany

Game two of Tennessee baseball’s weekend series against Albany will now start at noon ET instead of the previously announced 2 p.m. ET due to predicted cold temperatures in Knoxville.

Tennessee took game one of the weekend series 8-5 on Friday night at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The Vols are hosting UAlbany in their first home series of the regular season after traveling to Dallas for the Shriners Children’s College Classic the opening weekend of the season before returning home for midweek games against UNC-Asheville and ETSU earlier this week.

Tony Vitello’s seventh Tennessee team enters game two of the series 6-1 with victories over Texas Tech and Baylor in Arlington before earning victories in both of its midweek games. The Vols lone loss on the season is a 5-1 loss that they suffered against Oklahoma in extra innings.

Tennessee’s series opener against UAlbany on Friday night marks the Great Danes 2024 season opener. UAlbany is coming off a disappointing season where they posted just a 9-34-1 record including a 3-21 record in American East play.

Junior right-handed pitcher Drew Beam is starting the Saturday matchup for Tennessee while UAlbany’s right-handed pitcher Connor Eisenmann is getting the ball for the Great Danes.
