Tennessee baseball pitcher AJ Russell and third baseman Billy Amick, two Vols who were key in Tennessee’s 6-2 season-opening win over Texas Tech on Friday night at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, met with the media following the victory to share their thoughts on their performances and the team win as a whole.
Amick, who went 2-2 at the plate with a HR, reflected on what it was like to play behind pitchers AJ Russell and AJ Causey, both of whom made it easy on the Tennessee defense tonight. Additionally, Amick discussed playing in his first game as a Vol and what it was like to get the season started off on the right foot.
Russell talked about what was working for him on the mound and his thoughts on how AJ counterpart, AJ Causey, did in relief.
