No. 8 Tennessee will host Vanderbilt in Knoxville on Saturday night for an SEC rivalry clash in the Food City Center.

The Vols went to Nashville and beat the Commodores by a score of 75-62 on January 27.

Ahead of the game coming up in Knoxville this weekend, Tennessee guard Dalton Knecht and assistant coach Gregg Polinsky met with the media to discuss their final thoughts on the previous week and give a preview for the Vanderbilt game on Saturday.

Knecht spoke about the pros and cons of playing a time for a second time in such a short stretch, his defensive progress in the Arkansas game, what went into Tennessee’s mindset against Arkansas, and what he remembers about playing Vanderbilt last month.

Polinsky, meanwhile, was full of life in his press conference. While speaking about normal basketball topics and answering questions from the media, Polinsky threw out a Waffle House reference, spoke about individual bowling, and gave a big compliment to the character of Tobe Awaka. From a basketball standpoint, though, Polinsky spoke about Jordan Gainey’s impressive stretch, Awaka’s role with the team, Vanderbilt and Jerry Stackhouse, and much more.

No. 8 Tennessee (18-6, 8-3 SEC) will host Vanderbilt (7-17, 2-9 SEC) this Saturday night at 6:00 p.m. ET on the SEC Network.
