Four-star Alabama big man DeWayne Brown is officially visiting Tennessee basketball this weekend for the Vols’ instate rivalry matchup against Vanderbilt.
Brown ranks as a low four-star recruit and the No. 135 player in the class of 2025 according to the 247sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-9, 250-pound prospect ranks as the 22nd best center in his recruiting class.
A Hoover, Alabama native, Brown plays his prep basketball at Hoover High School. Behind Brown, the Bucs are one of the best teams in the state of Alabama where they boast a 27-3 record ahead of the postseason. Brown also ranks as the top player in the state of Alabama in the 2025 cycle.

A large percentage of the SEC is recruiting the physical big man. Brown took a visit to LSU in the preseason and has taken visits to Alabama, Auburn and Mississippi State so far this season. The physical big man also boasts offers from Ole Miss, Providence, Cincinatti and others.
Tennessee basketball doesn’t have a commit yet in the 2025 recruiting cycle but they have been actively recruiting a number of blue-chip recruits including Caleb Wilson, Shon Abaev, EJ Walker, Aleks Alston and much more.
The Vols are facing SEC foe Vanderbilt for the second time in three weeks after knocking off the Commodores 75-62 in Nashville last month. The Commodores are playing better as of late and knocked off Texas A&M on a buzzer beater earlier this week.
Tipoff at Thompson-Boling Arena at Food City Center is at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night. Roy Philpott and Pat Bradley are on the call for the SEC Network.
