After a two-game road trip, Tennessee basketball returns to Knoxville where they’ll host instate rival Vanderbilt on Saturday night in Knoxville.
The Vols bounced back from last Saturday’s loss at Texas A&M by annihilating Arkansa 92-63 on Wednesday night in Fayetteville. Vanderbilt enters the matchup with two SEC wins but having defeated Texas A&M on a buzzer beater Tuesday night.
Here’s everything to know ahead of the SEC matchup.

What Tennessee AC Gregg Polinsky Said About Arkansas
On the challenge of Tennessee facing a team a second time in three weeks
“I think getting your guys to lock back in, to get them to understand that there are some changes. I mean, Vanderbilt is playing better. They led South Carolina at the half. If South Carolina doesn’t have a few guys step up and make some key threes in that game, Vanderbilt’s there the whole way. Coach (Barnes) will say this, Coach (Jerry) Stackhouse probably runs as good an offense as anybody in this league, at the high end. They’re going to tweak what they do, they’re not going to show you the same thing. They’re able to make some changes that are difficult to deal with. From being here, they’re always going to play us very tough. They’re very capable. I think (beating) Texas A&M is a testament more to Vanderbilt, right? Having won whatever they won, coming into that game and going out and playing the team that just took care of us pretty good. And then Vanderbilt going and beating them on their home court.”

Prediction
Tennessee basketball returns home after a two-game home stand to face one of the worst teams in the SEC. In fact, the Vols next two games (Vanderbilt and at Missouri) are against the two bottom teams in the conference.
The Vols already knocked off the Commodores three weeks ago in Nashville and I expect the same thing on Saturday. The only question is whether Tennessee can cover the massive point spread.
I’m also looking to see if Jonas Aidoo can build off his big game at Arkansas against a small Vanderbilt front line. That would be another step in the right direction for one of Tennessee’s biggest stars.
Tennessee 77, Vanderbilt 61
