Tennessee baseball is just two days away from opening up its 2024 season at the Shriner’s Children Hospital Classic. The Vols face a trio of Big 12 teams in as many days, facing Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Baylor to open the season.
Tennessee released its game notes Wednesday evening ahead of the season opener and it included the projected pitching matchups for the three games as well as the Vols’ projected starters in the field.
When it comes to the position player starters, Tennessee will likely rotate multiple players at a number of spots throughout the weekend. The Vols will likely rotate some starters in the field over the course of the weekend and certainly throughout the pre-conference slate.
“We’ve moved guys all over the place and it’s going to be a group where we experiment a little bit,” Tony Vitello said on Wednesday. “I don’t want to drive these guys crazy, but we don’t want to leave any stone unturned either.”
What do the projected pitching matchups and starting lineups look like? Check it out here.
