Tennessee Baseball’s Lindsey Nelson Stadium will feature some fan-friendly changes for the 2024 season after a major renovation project began this past fall.
The main feature of the Vols’ plans for the 2024 season revolves around the idea of opening up the stadium to more spectators after years of fans hoping for more seats to see the Vols take on top-ranked conference competition. While Tennessee has put up temporary seating for big games and postseason play in the past, the Vols’ athletic department added hundreds more permanent seats for the season.
According to the Tennessee Fund’s stadium renovation plans, Lindsey Nelson Stadium added 900+ new, permanent seats along left field that replaces 546 temporary seats in that same location. The east side of the stadium will also look completely different with 130 new, permanent premium field-level seats along the third base line.
In addition to all of the new work down the left field/third base line, Tennessee also revamped the first base line with 120+ new, permanent premium seating options. New rows next to the Vols’ dugout have been added in closer to field level since the previous season.
