Tennessee football landed its sixth commit of the 2025 recruiting cycle on Saturday when west Tennessee receiver Joakim Dodson committed to the Vols over Cincinnati, Indiana and Missouri.

While it’s still very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle, the commitment bumped Tennessee up the rankings as Josh Heupel starts to lay the foundation for his fourth full recruiting class in Knoxville.

Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class currently contains two four-star commits and four three-star commits. Highly touted quarterback George MacIntyre is poised to become a five-star (currently the No. 9 player nationally) in time while running back Justin Baker and cornerback Dylan Lewis are in range to become four-star recruits.

MacIntyre, a Nashville area quarterback, is one of the top prospects and quarterbacks in the country. Tennessee landing the Brentwood Academy standout was a huge win for the Vols early in the 2025 cycle and a big boost to their recruiting efforts in their home state.

Dodson and MacIntyre are currently Tennessee’s only commits from the Volunteer State though the Vols are major players for top prospects Cameron Sparks and defensive tackle Ethan Utley. The recent commitment boosts Tennessee to a fringe top 10 class nationally.

Here’s where Tennessee football’s recruiting class ranks according to 247sports, On3 sports and Rivals.
