Tennessee landed in-state wide receiver Joakim Dodson on Saturday morning as the prospect announced his decision on social media.
Dodson, a 6-foot-1, 178-pound receiver from Collierville High School in West Tennessee, is the sixth overall commit in the Vols’ 2025 class. Dodson is also the Vols’ first wide receiver commit and their fourth offensive commit alongside five-star quarterback George MacIntyre, four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer, and three-star running back Justin Baker.
Dodson is a consensus three-star prospect according to 247 Sports, On3 Sports, and Rivals. Additionally, 247 Composite rankings have the Vols’ newest commit as a Top 600 player overall, the No. 80 receiver in the class, and the No. 15 prospect from the state of Tennessee.
Dodson closed down the 2023 season with nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards, racking up 919 receiving yards on 52 receptions, 15 rushing yards, and 58 passing yards, according to 247.
The West Tennessee native chose Tennessee over Missouri, Georgia Tech, and Indiana but also had offers from Arkansas, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, TCU, and Vanderbilt.
With the commitment of Joakim Dodson on Saturday morning, Tennessee holds the No. 10 ranking in the 2025 class according to 247 Sports and the No. 11 ranking according to On3 Sports.
