Tennessee basketball opened as 14.5-point favorites against LSU ahead of Wednesday night’s matchup according to Draft Kings.
The over/under is set at 153.
The Vols are clear favorites at home against an LSU team that’s been up-and-down this season. Analytical based college basketball website KenPom projects Tennessee to earn a 82-67 win against the Tigers.

Tennessee enters the midweek matchup coming off one of its best wins of the season. The Vols knocked off rival Kentucky 103-92 on Saturday night. A number of Vols turned in strong performances, most notably Zakai Zeigler and Josiah-Jordan James who each went for a career-high 26 points in the win.

Rick Barnes’ ninth Tennessee team enters Wednesday’s matchup with a 16-5 (6-2 SEC) record and one-game back of Alabama for first place in the SEC standings.
LSU is also coming off a big win, knocking off Arkansas 95-74 on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers had lost three straight games prior to the matchup and now enter the game against Tennessee with a 12-9 (4-4 SEC) record.
Matt McMahon’s second LSU team is very unlikely to make the NCAA Tournament but is still vastly improved over last season’s team which was one of the SEC’s worst.
“He walked into a very difficult situation a year but was able to use the portal to get what he felt like he needed to continue to build the program the way that he wanted to build it,” Tennessee coach Rick Barnes said on Tuesday. “Very explosive team. They’re very difficult to guard. A lot like Kentucky, can make extremely difficult shots even if you guard them. Really good schemes. And he gets the matchups that he wants and he’s done a really good job putting together a group of guys that can, first of all, they’ve played in big games.”
