Tennessee junior Zakai Zeigler landed on the Bob Cousy Award Midseason Watch List on Monday evening. Zeigler is one of just 10 players on the midseason Bob Cousy Watch List— given annually to the nation’s top point guard.
Zeigler joins Max Abmas (Texas), Boo Buie (Northwestern), Dajuan Harris Jr. (Kansas), Tyler Kolek (Marquette), Tristen Newton (Connecticut), Jahvon Quinerly (Memphis), Jamal Shead (Houston), Isaiah Stevens (Colorado State) and Wade Taylor IV (Texas A&M) as the nation’s 10 best point guards at the halfway point of the season.
The junior point guard enters Tuesday night’s showdown against South Carolina averaging 10.2 points and 5.1 assists per game. Zeigler, who tore his ACL on the final day of February 2023, didn’t miss any time at the start of the season but clearly wasn’t himself through the first month of the season.
