Tennessee and head coach Josh Heupel landed a blue-chip prospect to the 2025 class with five-star quarterback George MacIntyre on Monday morning.
The in-state prospect is listed as the No. 15 player in the nation, the No. 3 quarterback in the class, and the No. 1 player from the state of Tennessee from 247 Sports’ Composite rankings.
MacIntyre’s commitment to Tennessee is a major piece for the Vols as Tennessee locks down a very high-level quarterback for the future. While Heupel and the Vols will still have to get MacIntyre to signing day down the road, Tennessee has a legitimate landmark piece to build the 2025 class around.
Speaking of the 2025 class, though, Tennessee’s is moving up following the MacIntyre commitment. Tennessee’s class now has six total commitments, headlined by five-star QB MacIntyre and four-star TE Jack VanDorselaer. The Vols also have commitments from three-star CB Tyler Redmond, three-star CB Shamar Arnoux, three-star RB Justin Baker, and three-star CB Dylan Lewis.
Tennessee did move up and into the Top 10 overall for each publication and also sits with a Top 5 conference ranking according to all three. The SEC rankings *do* include Texas and Oklahoma as both teams will be part of the SEC next season.
