Former Tennessee football defensive end Tyler Baron has flipped his transfer portal commitment from Ole Miss to Louisville.

Baron announced the news on X Tuesday evening.

The former Vol had originally committed to Ole Miss on December 16, but now a full month later has flipped to the Cardinals. Baron joins former Tennessee defensive back and teammate Tamarion McDonald as Vols to transfer to Ole Miss only to flip to Louisville.

McDonald flipped on January 8.

Baron is coming off his most productive season to date, registering a career-high 41 QB pressures, 10.5 TFLs and six sacks. The Knoxville native also recorded a fumble return for a touchdown in the Vols’ win over UConn. It was Baron’s first career touchdown after his fumble recovery return for a touchdown against Ole Miss was controversially taken off the board during the 2021 season.

Baron was a rotational player for all four years at Tennessee, a part time starter as a sophomore in 2021 and a junior in 2022 before becoming a full-time starter in his senior season.

Baron will spend his final year of eligibility at Louisville barring another flip.
